Emmy-Award-winning writer Linda Elin Hamner has been a writer for as long as she can remember. She has written technical articles and soap operas and everything in between. She has discovered, however, that her heart sings to the humor beat.
Writers of humor are the Roger Dangerfield of literary genres. We are not Serious Writers, Important Writers, Academic Writers, Profound Writers. We normally don’t get Pulitzer Prizes or any other award. Or respect, really. All we want is to hear a giggle, a twitter, a snicker, a chortle, a laugh, a full-throated, gut-busting roar. The greatest compliment I’ve ever received came from a guy who I had never met. He called me to say that when he was reading my funny Letter to the Editor in our little local paper, he laughed so hard that a mouthful of coffee spewed from his mouth all the way across the room. And what better tribute could there ever be for a funny writer?
Enjoy the site. I’d be delighted if you spewed coffee across the room or if you laughed so hard coffee came out of your nose.
